Saudi Ambassador Denies Apologizes in Indonesia

Referring to the news published by some mass media in Indonesia, published today June 23, 2011 under the title: Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa: 'Saudi Arabian Government Admits Failure'.
In this regard, the Embassy would like to explain that His Excellency the Ambassador Abdulrahman Mohammed Amien Al-Khayat, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Indonesia had met Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa, on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in the framework of bilateral relations between the the two countries. 

In this connection the Embassy explained clearly that His Excellency the Ambassador did not submit to His Excellency Foreign Minister that he expressed an apology for not telling the Kingdom of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Riyadh on the execution of the death penalty against TKI / Ruyati.
And also not submitted to the Foreign Minister that Saudi Arabia negligent regarding the implementation of the execution. However conveyed is that the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia about the case TKI / Ruyati and will submit a written letter addressed to Foreign Minister Prince Saud Excellency Al-Faisal, Saudi Foreign Minister.

On Wednesday (22-66), Marty confirmed Saudi Arabia has admitted negligence and apologized for the execution Ruyati. 

"They expressed regret about this development to us earlier. He said that essentially they were negligent because it did not convey to us, should be delivered," said Marty.
Marty's remarks came when asked about the results pertemuaannya with Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, held on the same day. Marty handed a letter to Secretary of State to Ambassador Saudi Arabia.
